Led by Kyle James local videographer and photographer. A series of 3 sessions, preliminary knowledge, on-hill shooting, and inhouse editing. Further follow-up for this series is available through the Video/Filmmaking Collective.

ArtZone Embroidery Workshop

Catharine Wood is a seasonal resident to Sun Peaks from the UK. She is part of the Fibre Arts Collective of ArtZone. Catharine holds a 4 year City and Guilds diploma in embroidery and textile art. This training covered the history of embroidery and embroidery techniques from centuries ago to modern day. She learnt traditional techniques and were the encourage to try these in a more modern fashion using various different mediums. This workshop will look at basic embroidery stitches. A materials kit is included in the fee and will be supplied including embroidery hoop, scissors, needles and yarn; and will be yours to take home from the workshop

Originally from the West Kootenays Leah has always been an artist. Leah is passionate about the art community and enjoys creating opportunities for artists through the KAC Galleries. “There is nothing more inspiring for an artist than to see their collection of work professionally displayed in their own exhibition.”

As a member of the Kamloops Arts Council Leah has taken advantage of the opportunities provided to showcase some of her work in their various exhibitions. Volunteering and participating with this organization has led her to taking on the role as Galleries Coordinator, which has been exciting and continues to open doors.

Leah is an entrepreneur, volunteer and artist who takes great pleasure in painting, drawing and sharing her work with others.

Zuzy Rocka has been happy to call Sun Peaks her home for the last 7 or so years. Her work often shows natural subjects with a surrealistic spin to create a new little world within our own. Most of her latest creations show a love for animals and their nature which intrigue her immensely.

Zuzy works with a variety of different mediums, ranging from acrylic paints, ink, watercolours, and other tools, whichever best suits the image she is trying to convey.

In 2011, Zuzy received her diploma in Digital Photography from the Centre for Art and Technology in Kelowna, BC. Her photography became an increasingly powerful tool in excelling her artistic vision and a means to jumpstart her career as a young entrepreneur. Zuzy photographs weddings, commercial images, snowboarding, and family portraiture while keeping her passion for fine art surrealism in the mix.
