It’s out of the tower and on the run as a zany cast of friends and foes help Rapunzel’s harrowing escape from the towering imprisonment of Madame Gothel!
The residency begins MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, despite it being a STAT holiday. No classes missed!
ALL AGES WORKSHOP: Monday, October 2, 9:00 - 10:00, All elementary/secondary students are able to participate in this “warm-up” workshop! Come and get a chance to know the Residency Directors prior to the auditions. No commitment required. You’ll probably have so much fun you’ll want to stay for the whole day!!
AUDITIONS: October 2, 10:00 - 12:00. All kindergarten/elementary/secondary students are asked to audition for the 50-60 cast and 4 Assistant Director spots. Due to time constraints, anyone missing the initial audition may not be considered in the casting of the show. No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts at an audition. Students should come and be ready to have a good time! Please remember that everyone must stay the entire two hours of the audition. Further audition details here. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be in the play. Bring your lunch. If you are chosen as part of the cast there is a 15 minutes break for lunch prior to the first rehearsal.
REHEARSALS: There will be two - two-hour rehearsals each day Monday through Thursday 10:00 - 12:00, a 15-minute lunch break, then 12:15 - 2:15. On Friday, the dress rehearsal will take place 10:00 - 1:00, followed by a 15-minute break, after which the older cast members will stay for an additional 1-hour rehearsal session.
Not all of the students are required at every rehearsal. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will have a complete schedule to distribute after the audition.
WORKSHOPS: In addition to the production, 4 theatrically based enrichment workshops will be presented, one for each age group. Each workshop is a 45-minute, age-appropriate, educational, interactive exploration of the performing arts through hands-on activities, coached by our professional Tour Actor/Directors.
PERFORMANCE: Join us October 7, 2023 as the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 local students present an original musical adaptation of RAPUNZEL at the Sun Peaks Centre Stage! There will be two chances to see the performance. 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm.
TICKETS: Thanks to The Rotary Club of Sun Peaks who provided a subsidy to offset the cost of the tickets for the performance. Tickets are $10. each.
After Party! 6:30 - 7:30 The cast and crew and their families are invited to an After Party, right after the final performance in the Sun Peaks Centre. Join ArtZone for a celebration of your success!
