Dear Sun Peaks Community, 

We’re hosting an official artwork unveiling community event on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:00am and we’d like you to join us! 

A partnership between Sun Peaks Resort LLP, ArtZone Sun Peaks, Tourism Sun Peaks, and Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality, we are replacing all of the 85 locations of Valley Trail banners later this summer. The new banners will showcase artwork created by local artisans. 

After a successful call for artists run by ArtZone back in the spring, submissions by Zuzy Rocka and Dennis Staginnus were selected to showcase ‘The Essence of Sun Peaks’. The new banners have been printed on a different material to withstand the mountain elements and are expected to be in place for a minimum of three years. 

Those attending the Artwork Unveiling Event will be the first to see the new artwork, including the artists themselves, who have yet to see their winning pieces in the large format application! 

Event details 

When: Wednesday, July 31st at 10:00am 

Where: Masa’s Bar + Grill Patio 

Format: Drop-in event, no RSVP required. At 10:00am the formal part of the event begins, including the official artwork unveiling and words shared by participating organizations. Refreshments and light fare will be served. The event will run until 11:00am with the opportunity to meet and speak with the artists.
