Melissa Charpentier is a freelance illustrator living in Kamloops BC with her husband and two children.

Specializing in pattern design she’s been the lead illustrator for the Australian company Designer Bums since 2015 with over 100 prints designed for the company. Her patterns have been featured on backpacks, cloth nappies, playmats, kids clothing. She’s proud to work for such an award winning and eco friendly company and have her patterns worn by children around the world.

With a deep love of watercolor since childhood she explores many subject matters but has always been drawn to nature and finds inspiration in all facets of the natural world. Recently she’s been exploring acrylic, a medium she’s become very passionate about and is having heaps of fun learning how to master.

When not painting she enjoys time at the cabin, travel with family and time with her nose in a book as an avid reader.
