Dianne Carson has lived in Kamloops for the past 28 years and has only been painting since May 2016 when she retired and finally had some time.
With no previous drawing or painting experience, she jumped right into drawing lessons from Suzy Knox thru Kamloops Parks and Rec and then by taking acrylic painting lessons with Khara Gossage at Michaels. She then foraged straight into learning to paint with oils. She has been studying and painting in weekly studio classes with local artists Yvonne Reddick and Debbie Milner Lively as well as taking workshops with both. During the pandemic, she applied her knowledge to painting at home. She has dabbled in water-colour with Kelowna artist Alex Fong, acrylic painting with Guy Morrow in Texas. Diane has worked with oil pastels at Galeria Monteon in Puerto Vallarta, and with Edmonton’s Gene Prokop in Kelowna on a monthly basis. Dianne is enjoying the exciting exploration of painting immensely. She also has had paintings exhibited at Brynn’s Bakery in Kamloops, Kamloops Airport, Hello Toast and at various locations in Sun Peaks through her membership in ArtZone. She has shown her paintings in local art shows.
Diane is currently working toward her Active Status with the FCA. Dianne can be reached at bodi@shaw.ca or 250-851-5258
