Marj Knive, designer and weaver is the owner of the Sun Peaks Tartan design, registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans. It is the new District tartan of Sun Peaks. Items with the Sun Peaks Tartan applied digitally are available on her online Sun Peaks Tartan Shop.

Marj came to Sun Peaks in the spring of 2018 and brought with her a love of the mountains, hiking, skiing and a talent for weaving.

Learning to sew in her early years and then to weave wheat on their farm in Southern Alberta, it came somewhat naturally to transition into weaving fibres and creating wearables and home decorating items.

Marj takes inspiration from the world around her and then translates those observations into the colours and textures of her work.

Marj holds her Master Weaving III certificate from Olds College and continues her studies there progressing through the Master Weaving program.
